BGP Configuration Generator

Cisco IOS/XR-style, Arista EOS-style, Juniper JunOS-style, MikroTik RouterOS-style, and BIRD 2.x examples. Features include route reflection, confederation, graceful restart, BFD, route dampening, dual-stack IPv6, and filtering helpers.

Enable the relevant toggles under Enterprise features. For confederations, set the confederation ID and optional member ASNs. For route reflectors, set a cluster ID (or leave empty to use the router ID).

iBGP peers share the same AS and often require next-hop-self and route reflection at scale. eBGP peers use different ASNs and are commonly used for upstreams/transit, IX, and inter-domain routing.

Use them as a solid starting point. Always validate against your policies, platform version, and routing security requirements. Test changes in a lab or maintenance window.

Enable bogon filtering and/or RPKI validation to generate example policies. For production, use ROA feeds/validators you trust, maintain per-peer prefix-lists, and apply least-privilege import/export policies.

Default timers (60s keepalive, 180s hold) are fine for many deployments. Use BFD for fast failure detection, and set local-pref/communities consistently to enforce routing policy.
